Kyogle NAIDOC/RECONCILIATION Day

18 Jun 2010

The theme for this year's Reconciliation Day is "Unsung Heroes - Closing the Gap by Leading Their Way". In Kyogle we will be focussing on education, employment and health. We are planning to have music, singing, dancing, games, displays and food for everyone to enjoy.

The afternoon celebration will involve a Reconciliation Walk from the War Memorial to the netball courts near the Lagoon. Participants will assemble at 12.45pm and will walk escorted by local police from 1pm. Progress will be down Summerland Way through the Underpass under the railway line. Festivities will commence at 1.15pm and last to 2.45pm. There will be a free barbecue and cordial for everyone. The small schools will be holding their Athletic Carnival at the Don Gully Oval and will be included in the celebrations.

In the evening there will be a barbecue, bush tucker and entertainment from 6 -8pm at the Banquet area of the Kyogle Memorial Hall.
